choice of the dealer from whom you purchase.
Q.
How long will it take to receive my merchandise?
A. Shipping lead times
vary, depending on the size or product mix of your order. Popular utility
carts are usually in stock at the factory or dealer warehouse for prompt delivery.
Larger models or models with optional accessories installed take two to three
weeks to ship after receipt of the order. Contact your dealer or the factory
for specific lead times.
Q.
How can I choose the right Utility Cart?
A. The two important
factors to consider in choosing a Utility Cart are
- Shelf Size
- Carrying Capacity
When choosing a shelf size, determine
the smallest size that will accommodate all of the various objects to be carried.
Choosing a shelf size larger than needed will take up additional valuable
floor space and add unnecessay cost to the cart.
Choose a carrying capacity that
will best accommodate the heaviest load to be carried, especially when the
Utility Cart is used for multiple tasks. Using an underrated capacity for
heavier loads will cause difficulty in pushing and can result in damage to
the cart and the load. For additional information, see our Cart
Selection Guide.
Q.
How can I maintain the finish on my stainless steel carts?
A. Stainless steel
offers a permanent surface that is easy to clean and sanitize. By using a
minimum amount of care, you can maintain the surfaces of your mobile stainless
steel equipment. Here are a few important maintenance tips:
1. Use the proper cleaning
tools.
Take care to use non-abrasive
tools. Soft cloths and plastic scouring pads will not harm the steel. Stainless
steel pads can also be used, but the scrubbing motions must be in the direction
of the surface grain.
2. Use "friendly"
cleaning agents.
Cleaning agents containing chlorides
can attack stainless steel, resulting in corrosion. Avoid using such agents.
While many traditional cleaners are loaded with chlorides, the industry
is providing an ever-increasing choice of non-chloride cleaners. If you
are not sure of your cleaner's chloride content, contact your cleaner supplier.
If you determine that your cleaner contains chlorides, ask your supplier
to supply an alternative. Also, avoid cleaners containing quaternary salts,
as they can also attack stainless and cause rusting and pitting.
3. Treat your water.
Though this is not
always practical, softening hard water can do much to reduce deposits. There
are certain water filters that can be installed to remove corrosive elements.
4. Keep your equipment clean.
Use alkaline, alkaline chlorinated
or non-chloride cleaners at recommended strength. Clean frequently
to avoid build-up of hard, stubborn stains.
5. Rinse, rinse, rinse.
If cleaners (especially
chlorinated) are used, it is important to rinse your equipment thuroughly,
and dry it immediately. The sooner standing water is wiped off, the better,
especially if it contains cleaning agents.
